Windcatchers of Yazd, Iran: UNESCO World Heritage City
This project explores the value-based approach in heritage planning, utilizing Artificial Intelligence to analyze social media posts, policy documents, and academic publications to identify differences and similarities among stakeholder groups in defining the cultural significance of built heritage. The methodological framework reveals consensus on windcatchers' values while acknowledging varying perceptions. The collective cultural significance (values and attributes) are identified to develop policy recommendations and strategies on the conservation and development of passive natural ventilation systems in urban neighborhoods in Yazd, Iran.

By collaborating closely with stakeholders, we develop and implement policies that empower the community's voices in shaping their future. Building and nurturing strong relationships with various parties ensure the successful implementation of these policies, leaving a positive impact on the municipality. To further enhance citizen participation, we focus on communities' collective memory and employ data-driven insights to continuously refine our approach, staying at the forefront of policy excellence. Our dynamic workshops and engaging gamification are designed to foster collaboration among public authorities, companies, and researchers, creating a united front for progressive change.
